Laws & Child Rights
The rights and entitlements of children can be found in a handful of laws, and those relating to the rights of children with disabilities are even rarer. The ratification of International conventions on the rights of children as well as those of persons with disabilities has improved the situation. This section contains the most important laws protecting the rights of children with disabilities to education and the right to read, the rights of all children to protection against violence and abuse, and the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India. This Section details the substance of these laws, the mechanisms that they provide for, the authorities that they establish, and the procedure and penalties provided in case of breach of the laws. The grievance redressal mechanisms as well as the contact details of authorities are also provided.
If you want to provide any support to people with disabilities, refer to this guide on how to appoint a guardian for them, avail funds for your welfare organization and the role of The National Trust to make it all possible.
